Trainer Script:
“Welcome to the California State Roleplay Moderator Training. This training will cover your responsibilities, how to moderate correctly, how to speak to players, and when to escalate situations. Moderation is not a power role — it is about fairness and professionalism.”
1. What a Moderator Is
Trainer Script:
“A Moderator is the first line of staff support. Your job is to enforce rules, assist players, and protect roleplay.”
- Enforce server rules
- Handle minor rule violations
- Assist players
- Monitor chat and VC
- Escalate when unsure
Moderators DO NOT:
- Make final punishment decisions
- Handle staff reports
- Investigate exploits
- Argue with players
2. Professional Conduct
Trainer Script:
“Everything you say represents CSRP. Tone matters more than punishment.”
Do NOT say:
- “Because I said so”
- “Do you want a ban?”
- “Stop being stupid”
Say instead:
- “Please stop, this violates server rules.”
- “This is a warning. Continued behavior will escalate.”
- “You may appeal this decision.”
3. Common Moderation Situations
RDM / Fail RP
Script: “I observed RDM. You killed without valid roleplay initiation.”
FRP / Unrealistic Driving
Script: “Please keep your driving realistic. That action is considered Fail RP.”
Chat Violations
Script: “Please stop spamming. This is your warning.”
Player Disputes
Script: “I will review what happened. Please remain calm.”
4. Escalation Rules
Trainer Script:
“Escalation is not failure. Escalate if a situation exceeds your permissions.”
- Player refuses to comply
- Staff member involved
- Possible exploiting or hacking
- You are unsure what to do
Script: “I am escalating this to a higher-ranking staff member.”
5. Logging & Evidence
Trainer Script:
“If it’s not logged, it didn’t happen.”
- Warnings
- Mutes
- Kicks
- Repeated issues
Evidence includes screenshots, video clips, and chat logs.
6. On-Duty Expectations
- Be active and attentive
- No AFK while on duty
- Respond to tickets
- Follow Chain of Command
